课程简介
生态学课程是河南大学“双一流”学科生物学的专业基础课，也是生态学专业、环境科学专业、植物学专业和动物学专业等研究生教学、科研所应必备的专业知识。课程内容主要涵盖个体生态学、种群生态学、群落生态学和生态系统生态学四个研究层次，本课程介绍了生态学的研究对象、基本理论以及生态学在生命科学发展中做出的巨大贡献，培养学生采用辩证的科学思维和严谨的科学态度思考问题。通过学习本课程学生能：1. 掌握生态学的基础理论和基本原理；2.了解生态学在实际生活中的应用，了解生态学的发展动态和发展前景；3. 能初步利用生态学基础理论与方法对生活中的问题和现象进行思考，培养学生的辩证科学思维和严谨科学态度。
目前国内已经上线建设的生态学同类课程基本采用的都是普通话教学模式，还没有双语教学形式的开展。本课程《基础生态学》（Basic ecology）采用双语授课的方式，借鉴生态学领域国外经典教材，融合国内生态学教材的基础知识和基本理论，使学生在学习专业知识的同时，了解生态学相关专业知识的英文表达方式，有利于学生国际化视野的培养
